They drew first blood…

There’s a new Rambo movie coming out, Rambo 5.  The original reports read something like he was going to another jungle to help out some more foreigners but the truth was revealed a day or so later, from Rambo himself, that he will instead be battling biologically engineered killing animals (think shadowy wolves).  It’s based off the book “Hunter”, which Stallone had bought awhile ago.

When I first heard this, I was let down and thought it was going to suck.  The idea is growing on me a bit though.  The last Rambo was great and I enjoyed it…nothing will top the 50cal scene.  And now that Rambo is the hunter instead of the hunted, more plot scenarios are opened up.  We’ll get to see his detective skills at work.

If you think about it, there aren’t many more enemies that Rambo has left to slaughter.  It’s just taking the nature turn of “if we can’t find anybody knew to kill, let’s manufacture some.”  Like Jason X, the main character is going sci-fi…but I really hope it’s better than Jason X (which is a pretty easy feat).

I’m damn excited for this and will spend money to see it in the theatre, whether it looks good or bad.
